Catch up on all the latest changes in the Pinpoint product.

We are delighted to be releasing the Pinpoint Profile!

In addition, we have released The Daily into Early Access. Read more about these brand new features below:

Pinpoint Profiles

Head to Settings > Profile to claim your unique Pinpoint username (first come, first served!) and enable your Pinpoint profile! Show off your experience, accomplishments, expertise and favorite entities in the shareable and embeddable public Pinpoint Profile. Authentically show the world who you are, what you have done, and what you care about. You can interact with Keegan's profile below:

"The Pinpoint Profile allows developers to showcase their interests and accomplishments both within the software community and beyond. The best part is that it’s portable - it can be embedded anywhere and kept up-to-date at all times, following you from job to job and updating as your skills evolve." - Keegan Donley (Software Engineer at Pinpoint)

The Daily (Early Access)

We are really excited for you to try out The Daily in early access! Too often in traditional stand-ups information is missed, lost in translation, or just forgotten. The Daily view improves your typical stand-up ceremony by giving more context around work in progress to help team members stay caught up and better prioritize their day while tracking daily team sentiment. We will release a full Changelog for The Daily when it moves from Early Access to full release but in the meantime, get stuck in and let us know what you think!

P.s check out this video of Rick Blalock (Director of Engineering at Pinpoint) demonstrating some of The Daily block types below:

Improvements & Fixes

With significant integration & stand-up upgrades, the Daily, personal public profiles (and more!) coming just around the corner, the changelog is pretty light this week but stay tuned for a big release coming later this month!

  • Resolved an issue where on-premise GitHub integrations were failing for Pull Requests.
  • Added better internal tests to our Epic Risk data science models.
  • Fixed an issue where tooltip on a User's avatar would show their name as Undefined Undefined in Retros.
  • Text styling for unordered lists etc in Issue Descriptions got a bit messed up so we put that right.
  • Got rid of a little gremlin in the embeddings data science model.
  • Updated config to fix an issue with the commit linking pipeline not firing events correctly.

Improvements & Fixes

Here are some fixes and improvements we've been making over the last week while we work hard behind the scenes to get the Daily and the Pinpoint Public Profiles ready for you!

  • Improved the load times when changing a team on the Retro Overview page.
  • Resolved an issue where occasionally there would be discrepancies between the lists of Action Items users were seeing in a Retro.
  • Resolved a problem where occasionally not all attendees would be included in calendar events which affected meeting hours reporting.
  • Fixed a bug where Auto-Packing a Sprint would return 0 sprint items.
  • The Org Dashboard > Teams > Agile tab was broken very temporarily but we quickly brought it back up.

Product Spotlight - August 2020

This month we've been working behind the scenes on some awesome new features including the Daily (a complete re-think of the daily stand-up) and Public Individual Profiles for you to authentically showcase your experience and achievements. Those are coming in September and in the meantime, we've been working diligently on improving the stability, speed and quality of the Pinpoint product while incorporating customer feedback wherever possible.

Watch the video to hear from our product manager, Matthew Tibbit for details on what was released in August. Check out the blog post here and read more about our roadmap here.

Improvements & Fixes

We are making some incredible headway with the work on Pinpoint Public Profile and the Daily - keep an eye out for our Sprint Review videos to see how they are shaping up! In the meantime, here are some other fixes and improvements we've been making over the last week:

  • There was a very irritating intermittent bug that caused the logged-in user to land on a 404 because their URL was almost duplicated. We finally identified the cause and knocked that one out.
  • Epic Cards were showing deleted Team names - we made a tweak so that "No Active Team Assigned" will show on Epic cards in Pinpoint if the associated team has been deleted (see gif below).
  • Made a change so when adding a user, email field doesn't care about text case anymore. Previously using all capital letters would prevent the user from being added (a bit of a strange one!).
  • Fixed an issue where Closed issues wouldn't show for a Team in certain scenarios.
  • We made several further efficiency optimizations to the Team Dashboard to help with the large data loads. We will be monitoring this closely going forward.
  • Resolved a bug where the Pull Request tables were not including "Merged" Pull Requests in the Total count.
  • There was a bug where sometimes GitLab issues did not have a closed date - this is fixed.
